A series about LEGO toys is sure to intrigue those attending the next two weeks at South Whitley UMC!  Ever creative, Pastor Chris Stahlman has "connected" the LEGO toy to some interesting fundamental truths about the Christian walk.  You will want to see the creative constructions as you enter the front foyer of the church.  The sanctuary will surprise and entertain you as well.  Come see what it is all about!  The early service is held at 8:30 am. GREETINGS! A busy week is in the works at South Whitley UMC.  The Good Friday Service will be held April 3rd at 7:00 pm.  This will be a moving and meaningful evening for you and your family.  On Easter Sunday April 5th we will be celebrating with an amazing new series you will enjoy.  A theme of LEGO's will be sure to enthrall you and your youngsters and you are encouraged to bring your own LEGO sculpture about Easter.  We will be thrilled if you join us for the fun.  Our April 5th Easter Events include:  (8:30 am) Vintage Easter Worship Service, (9:45 am) Church Easter Breakfast opens for anyone wishing to attend, (10:15 am) will offer an Easter Egg Hunt for the children and (11:00 am) will feature a Modern Easter Worship Service!  With all this from which to choose, let this extraordinary season bring new joy to you and your family.  Come join us and find out why this is a rapidly growing and loving church.



This Week At A Glance

Palm Sunday (March 29th) is always a very special day at SWUMC and this year will be even more special with the continuation of the incredible journey of Jonah and his trip back to God as extolled by Pastor Chris Stahlman.  Each of two services will carry the same message but will offer it with a different flair.  You may choose to attend the 8:30am service with blended music and one approach, or your family may find they enjoy the upbeat contemporary service held each Sunday at 11:00am with a different atmosphere.  Between the two services this active church offers a free coffee bar and the opportunity to expand your knowledge with a number of friendly study groups along with special times for children who will find art, music, lots of fun and a variety of choices with excellent supervision.

On other days a daycare and preschool are available for our community, along with Griefshare meetings on Monday evenings at 6:30pm for those experiencing a difficult loss of loved ones.  Other offerings include Women's Bible study at 6:30pm on Tuesdays, Zumba at 7pm on Wednesdays,  Praise team on Wednesdays, Scouts on Thursdays and Youth group most Sundays.  Many other community services are provided through this church.  You are encouraged to visit and find out why it may offer just what you and your family have been missing.

The inspiring Pastor Chris Stahlman will be starting a new series called "The Man That Ran" in both the 8:30am Blended, and the 11am current services. The scouts will also be participating in the 11am service as well.

Sunday the youth will be having Jam at Klepingers from 6-8pm.  Contact Tony Klepinger (tony@southwhitleyumc.com) if your son or daughter would like to hang out with some great kids.

The Grief share group is still accepting new people on Mondays Evenings at 6:30pm.  The Tuesday night Womens Bible study will be starting a new series by the contagious pastor and author, Steven Furtick. Anyone is invited to join this lively group of women  weekly at 6:30pm. If you find you just can't sit still for long, come join the Zumba group on Wednesday nights at 7pm.

Although our church has been growing, we still have room for you to join us……we always have an extra pot of hot coffee waiting for you, so come see what is brewing at South Whitley United Methodist Church!

The energetic pastor Chris Stahlman will be continuing his series titled "Living a 24/6 life in a 24/7 world" in both the 8:30am blended and 11:00am current services.  Between the two services from 9:30-10:00am you are invited to join us for coffee and new friendships.

Bruce Wrightsman (bruce@southwhitleyumc.com) is the contact person if you are interested in joining the Grief share group on Monday evenings at 6:30pm. Everyone is also invited to the womens Bible study meeting in the Social Hall at 6:30pm, and the Zumba classes on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm.

Youth will meet at Klepingers house Sunday evening from 6-8pm.  Practices for the Easter choir will be starting up soon and you can contact Michele Payton (michele@southwhitleyumc.com) if you are interested in joining the choir.

Although this community and family style church is growing we still have more room for you to join us!  Come and see some of the most wonderful people in South Whitley!



This Week At A Glance

The energetic and engaging Pastor, Chris Stahlman, will be starting a new series titled 24/6 in both the 8:30am blended and 11:00am current services.  You are invited to join us for coffee and develop some new friendships between the two services from 9:30-10am. 

This young church has something going on nearly every night of the week.  Saturday, Feb 28th a group of people will be heading up to Epworth Forest for a youth service project.  You can contact Tony Klepinger if you are interested in joining the group or the JAM held Sunday evenings from 6-8pm.

The weekly GriefShare Support group that meets on Monday evenings at 6:30pm is designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one.  Bruce Writghtsman is the contact person if you have further questions regarding this group.

Tuesday evenings everyone is invited to the womens bible study which meets in the fellowship hall at 6:30p,, and the public is also invited to join the Zumba classes on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm.

There is a place for you in this active church reflecting the light of Christ!

A meaningful Ash Wednesday service will be held February 18th at 7 pm.  All are welcome. 

On Sunday, February 22nd, a dynamic guest speaker will be offering an interesting topic at both the 8:30 am Vintage and the 11:00 am New Wine services at South Whitley UMC.  This lively and invigorating congregation is growing each week under the inspiring work of Pastor Chris Stahlman.  The youth group will meet that same evening at 6 pm at Tony and Julie Klepinger's home.  Area youth are encouraged to call the church for directions and are welcome to bring a friend.

February 18th, from 7-8pm you are invited to join us for an exceptional Ash Wednesday service.

South Whitley UMC has something for everyone each night of the week.  Mondays at 6:30pm is the GriefShare program, 6:30pm on Tuesdays is the women’s bible study, Zumba rocks the house at 7pm on Wednesday nights, and cub scouts meet at 6:30pm on Thursday nights.  This Sunday at South Whitley UMC, Pastor Chris Stahlman will be continuing the Faith That Works…A Journey through James series in both our 8:30am Vintage, and 11am New Wine services.  This exciting new pastor has everything from bon-fires, to target practice in the service.  This coming Sunday, in honor of Super Bowl, anyone who wants to, is invited to wear their favorite Football team jersey.  Come see what our quarterback will throw this Sunday!
