This vibrant church has many upcoming events….Saturday, December 5th Julie Klepinger is hosting a birthday party for Jesus for your family from 10am to noon.  Come with your toddlers through 5th grade and join the fun and refreshments!  December 6th our Youth Group (Fusions) will shop for special Christmas families.  Christmas Worship Band practice December 15th and 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Christmas Worship Choir will practice December 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to join.

This Week At A Glance

Over one hundred boxes filled to the brim were provided for Operation Christmas Child this year.  A new record for this church!

On November 29, the Hanging of the Greens will take place to celebrate and decorate for the Christmas season.  That same Sunday Tony Klepinger will provide a blessing by talking about "An Attitude of Gratitude" in both the 8:30am and 11:00am services. Remember, a warm cup of java and other beverages will always be available between services at our free coffee bar!  Also at 10:00am every Sunday you are welcome to join a number of lively and interesting small groups!

A free family bowling event will be held that this Sunday, November 22, from 2-4pm at Rainbow Lanes in Huntington.  Come join in!  The Worship Bands and Choir/Praise Teams are looking for additional members for the upcoming holiday season and also ongoing opportunities have opened up.  Contact Michele Payton at michele@southwhitleyumc.com to inquire.  For the entire family, a birthday party for Jesus is coming up December 5.  Mark your calendar to attend this family fun event!  December 6 the Fusion Youth Group will be shopping for their Christmas family.



This Week At A Glance

South Whitley UMC has many outreach programs.  This Sunday, November 15th, you can participate in one called "Fill The Cart."  The third Sunday of each month grocery carts are filled with non-perishables and delivered to the local food pantry.  Drop your items off as you enter the church and you will be helping others!  ShoeBoxes are still available for Operation Christmas Child Project.  Bring a packed box Sunday November 15th to help a child have Christmas.

The clever title "Waste Management" is the current topic of three impressive sermons.  Come this week to hear the segment on "Treasures" presented by PC (Pastor Chris Stahlman).  New Small Group DVD series has begun.  You can join Bruce Wrightsman and his group following the 8:30 am service on the lower level at 9:45 am.  Second service starts at 11:00 am each week.  Fusion youth group will meet November 15th from 6-8pm at Klepinger's home. Trunk or Treat was a smash hit with over 140 children enjoying the colorfully decorated car trunks.  Colorful costumed inhabitants beside each vehicle handed out candy treats to the children who came in a multitude of clever costumes of their own.  This will be repeated next year so mark your calendar. 

Pastor Chris (PC) will begin a new series this week titled "Waste Management."  Stop in to find out the intriguing way he will weave this into a sustaining message you can rely on for the following week.  Early service is at 8:30 am and Second service is at 11:00 am.  Between each service there is a coffee bar and an opportunity to attend a short group meeting or Sunday School class, each with a variety of topics that will be of interest.  Child care is also provided. 

November 8th, the Fusion youth group will meet from 6 to 8 pm at Klepinger's.  This church supports the South Whitley Food Bank.  Drop off Turkeys or Hams and/or fixings on Saturday November 7th from 9:00 am to noon at the South Whitley Dollar General Store.  Christmas shoe boxes are offered for Samaritan's Purse program to help children overseas.  Directions are inside the boxes in the church lobby.

TRUNK or TREAT!  Exciting event coming up on Saturday October 31st at South Whitley UMC.  Kids, come see all the decorated car trunks and reach into each one for your candy treats.  The fun will be available from 4 to 6 pm and you won't want to miss it!

South Whitley UMC offers an 8:30 am service and an 11:00 am service every Sunday.  Between the services you will find a coffee bar and refreshments and an opportunity to mingle and meet new friends.  Also between the services, small group meetings are held where more friends will welcome you and you also have an opportunity to learn more and get answers to questions that you may have.

This is an active and growing church with many outreach projects that welcome helpers.  Pastor Chris, (some call him PC), welcomes all and offers intriguing and valuable messages each week that motivate and assist his listeners as they deal with life's daily struggles.  A marvelous Halloween alternative will be available on October 31st from 4 to 6 pm.  Called "Trunk or Treat," local kids will be enthralled with decorated car trunks along with hot chocolate, cider, goodies, and candy that will be handed out to each little visitor!  Drive round back to the church parking lot and enjoy the fun.

Keeping the audience guessing seems to be working very well for Pastor Chris Stahlman of South Whitley UMC as curiosity livens the faces each Sunday.  Each week attendees try to guess which 3:16 verse of the Bible will have one of his marvelous explanations that can be cherished all week long.  Motivating and reassuring seems to be His gift as he also is tying this particular series to the small groups and Sunday school classes for additional depth. 

This active church has many programs for all ages.  Current events include an annual pickle sale through the end of October, fill the Cart (with non-perishables) on October 18th for the food bank, Youth fusion on October 18th at Klepinger's from 6-8 pm, and a clever new Halloween alternative called "Trunk or Treat" which is expecting to attract a large crowd of youngsters and their families for a safe and fun time.  Many candy treats along with hot chocolate and cider, will be available in the church parking lot from 4-6 pm on October 31st.

A friendly welcome will greet newcomers to this vibrant and growing church on Sundays for both the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services.

Continuing the uplifting 3:16 series, Pastor Chris will touch your heart once again this week with a message that carries you through the times ahead until you return next week for a refill!  The new name for the youth group will be FUSION.  No meeting until October 18 from 6 to 8 pm.
